The San Antonio Silver Stars outscored the Tulsa Shock 28-13 in the second quarter en route to a 74-65 win Friday night in Tulsa.
Jia Perkins led San Antonio with 19 points and four assists. Shenise Johnson added 13 points and four assists. Jayne Appel scored just eight points for the Silver Stars but hauled in 10 boards.
Riquna Willams led Tulsa with 18 points while Glory Johnson added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Skylar Diggins chipped in 12 points and seven assists, but also committed seven turnovers.
One big difference came on field goal shooting, where San Antonio shot 48 percent to just 37 percent, includign 7 percent from 3-point range.
"[We] started off pretty good," Johnson said. "We started making some mistakes and turning the ball over and missing shots. They were about 50 percent in shooting and we were around 30 percent."
Tulsa is back at it Sunday, Sept. 1 against the New York Liberty.
