Can we revert back to last week?  The pattern is dominated by a mid-level ridge of high pressure and may remain that way not only for the next 7 days, but possibly for  the next 10 to 14 days.  We see no major storm systems near our area for the short term, and model data suggest this may also be the case for the foreseeable future.  The center of the ridge will nudge slightly eastward this weekend into early next week, but the EURO data also suggest the ridge may strengthen early next week.  If this is the case, our temperatures may get even warmer by Tuesday and Wednesday by next week by taking a run at the upper 90s near 100.

The short term observations will keep the higher dew points and moisture to our southeast but some increase in low level moisture will be expected today and Friday allowing our temperature heat index values hitting 97 to 99.  As the center of the ridge moves eastward this weekend there may be a few isolated showers or storms along the Red River or possibly across extreme eastern Ok and western Arkansas Sunday afternoon.  The chance will remain very low and will be represented by a 10% chance on the Sunday time period.  Some of our neighbors could see an isolated storm Friday and Saturday across far southern OK and northeast TX.

Temperatures today will be in the mid-90s with morning lows in the lower to mid-70s Friday into the weekend.

Our official high in Tulsa yesterday was 93 recorded at 4:31pm.

The normal daily average high is 93 and the low is 71.

Our daily records include a high of 106 from 1936 and a low of 50 from 1920.

Precip for the year remains at 23.38 inches which is -3.08 below compared to the normal precip to date of 24.46 inches.
