Tulsa Crews Pass Halfway Mark In Storm Debris Removal

The city of Tulsa says its crews are working six days a week, 10 hours a day to remove tree debris from the storm that hit on July 23, 2013.

The crews have divided the city into zones. So far they've cleared more than 100, with about 75 left to do.

The city says some of the remaining zones suffered the most damage and contain more debris than others.

According to a news release, the crews have collected 41,682 cubic yards of debris; enough to cover 160 football fields three feet deep.

About 115 city workers are collecting debris. They're collecting larger branches, limbs and trunks left at the curb using dump trucks and heavy equipment.
