Officials say they are one step closer to opening a site where Bixby residents can dispose of their tree debris.
The city doesn't have a solid waste division, so it doesn't have enough of its own workers or the proper equipment to pick up debris from individual homes and businesses.
Crews have finished clearing any debris near roadways or drainage facilities that may have posed a risk, the city says, and now it's up to residents to clear and haul off the debris in their own yards.
The debris management site will open August 6, 2013, and will be open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., until August 30.
The city says the site will also open between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays during that time, but it will be closed on Sundays.
There will be no charge for residents to use the drop-off site, but they will need to present a recent Bixby water bill to prove residence.
