Tulsa Police: Heavy Rain Preceded Highway 75 Head-On Crash

A head-on crash on Highway 75 near Apache Monday afternoon shut down the southbound lanes and sent at least one person to a Tulsa hospital.

Police said a northbound red Chevy pickup truck crossed over the median and struck a southbound black Infiniti SUV head-on.

Officers said a line of thunderstorms producing heavy rain at the time was a contributing factor in the 1:30 p.m. crash.

The driver of the pickup refused medical treatment, but EMSA transported a passenger in the Infiniti to a Tulsa hospital.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
