The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Carthage, Missouri man died in a crash on the Will Rogers Turnpike Wednesday afternoon.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Ethan Giett was driving a 2008 Lincoln MKZ westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-44 near Vinita when he struck a semi-tractor trailer just after 4 p.m.

The trooper's report stated the impact spun the car around, causing it to roll down an embankment and throwing Giett out a window. The car came to rest on the driver.

The driver of the semi, Matthew Baker, 30, also from Missouri, was not injured.

The OHP says it has not determined why Giett was going the wrong way on the turnpike.
