Hundreds of Oklahomans took the first step on Saturday to get healthy with Tulsa's first citywide health fair.
Forty hospitals, clinics and vendors from across the state gave free physical and mental screenings and consultations at Promenade Mall.
Experts say the biggest hurdle for those trying to get healthy is the fear of finding out how unhealthy they are currently.
"Healthcare is serious, but people often don't often want to go and find out about it but not knowing is dangerous," event organizer Beverly Moore said.
Organizers hope to make this an annual event here, and in Oklahoma City.
The state ranks 46th in overall health.
