Tulsa police will soon be going door-to-door to warn local businesses about mail theft.

The Financial Crimes Unit is seeing more and more mail disappearing from mailboxes in east Tulsa business complexes.

To help raise awareness, officers will be going around to businesses, handing out fraud prevention letters that have tips about how to protect mail from thieves.

Sgt Alicia Maurer, TPD Financial Crimes Unit: "Fraud hits every single citizen regardless of their race, their demographic, their sex, their income level. It hits every single citizen every single day and that's why it's such an important thing for us to try and take some preventative measures," said Sgt. Alicia Maurer.
