A new facility has opened that will provide a place to live for dozens of Tulsans down on their luck.
The Tulsa Day Center for the homeless helped dozens of people move into the Hudson Villas Wednesday.
The $6 million facility provides permanent housing for up to 60 people.
Misty Baker was one of them. She said it's amazing to have her own place to live, but said the emotional support she's received from the Day Center has helped her through one of the most difficult times of her life.
"I've been going through cancer, and it has been a lot and they've been really helpful for me," Baker said. "They've taken care of me through it all. It's been a blessing."
Hudson Villas was paid for and will be supported by private donations and grants.
