Hospital officials say one of the two men who were injured in an explosion at a sandblasting company in Eufaula has died.
The business sandblasts and paints propane tanks, among other things. On May 7, 2013, fire officials said workers were moving a 250-gallon tank when it slipped off a forklift, breaking a valve and causing the gas to leak. Firefighters say the gas was ignited when two workers went back inside, possibly to turn on exhaust fans.
Don Hamilton and Michael Cox were the two workers who were critically injured. They were both flown to Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.
A spokesperson from Hillcrest confirmed Monday that Hamilton has died.
Cox remains listed in good condition.
After the explosion, OSHA was at the business, investigating the incident.
