Tulsa K9 Officer Helps Capture Man Fleeing From Chase

Police tried to stop a pickup driven by Mitchell Portilloz, 50, at 12:30 a.m. near 11th and Delaware after he failed to stop for a red light. The say Portilloz drove off and they gave chase.

Tulsa Police used a K9 officer to track down and arrest a man after a chase early Friday.

Police tried to stop a pickup driven by Mitchell Portilloz, 50, at 12:30 a.m. near 11th and Delaware after he failed to stop for a red light. The say Portilloz drove off and they gave chase. 

The chase ended when Portilloz' pickup crashed through a fence in the 2400 block of North Birmingham Place and then drove onto railroad tracks where it stalled.

Portilloz got out and ran, but a K9 officer tracked him down.

Police took him to the Tulsa County jail and booked him on complaints of failure to stop for a red light, eluding, leaving the scene of an accident and several outstanding warrants.
