Tulsa Man Arrested For Assaulting His Father

A 22-year-old Tulsa man is in jail after witnesses said he stabbed his own father early Wednesday morning.

It happened at Old South Apartments, near 51st and Yale, around 3 a.m.

Deontay Marsalis was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.

Witnesses told police that Marsalis jumped his father and "slashed at the victim many times with the knife," an arrest report says.

After being read the Miranda Warning, Marsalis told investigators he stabbed his father after the man chased him down.

Online court records show Marsalis was arrested last month for possession of a controlled drug, reckless driving and driving without a license.
