A special program called Summer Cafe began Monday and is providing Tulsa-area school children free breakfast and lunches during June and July.
Many parents depend on free lunches through the school year and during the summer many children have to go without.
Officials say the summer food service program called Summer Cafe addresses a huge need across the community.
Tulsa Public School statistics show 85 percent the district's students rely on free and subsidized lunches during the school year and locations across Tulsa are giving kids access to breakfast and lunch.
And it's not just for TPS students. The federally-funded program will provide free meals to all children 18 years of age or younger at all of the sites.
Tulsa Public Schools' Summer Cafe operates at 65 sites from June 3, 2013 to July 26, 2013.
The program was a huge success in 2012. Last year, Summer Cafe provided 202,891 breakfasts and lunches across Tulsa.
