Everyone has something that means everything to them. For one Moore tornado survivor, it was two wedding gifts, still in wrapping paper.

They made it out intact, she likes to think, with help from above.

A driveway full of stuff - a suitcase, some gas cans - is what's left of Tiffany Trusdell and Melanie Wright's home.

"I'm okay with the house. I had two dogs that were out back and both have been found. The things can be replaced," Trusdell said.

But for Wright, there were a few things that were irreplaceable: specifically, two wrapped gifts from her mom.

"I had wedding presents from my mother, who passed away in July 2001," Wright said.

Her mom died of breast cancer when Melanie was in high school, and her mom knew she would never see her daughter walk down the aisle.

"Her and my dad went out and bought presents for me and my sisters, who weren't married yet, before she passed away, just so we would have that special gift from her," Wright said.

Melanie is a junior high teacher and was on lockdown with her students, when the tornado wiped out her neighborhood.

She watched its path from her phone, so she knew when she went home, there would be no home to go to.

But the question then was, would those precious gifts be anywhere to be found? It turns out, her mom was watching over her.

"It was actually the most outer stack of boxes in the garage. All of that was exposed, walls gone - very top of the stack, untouched, still wrapped, nothing broken," Wright said.

Nothing broken - just like Wright's spirit.

"Honestly, I've already gotten the things that meant the most, so the rest of it, if it can be saved, great. If not, I'm okay with it," she said.
