The Cherokee Nation Monday celebrated a million-dollar road project that's keeping drivers in Rogers County safer.
The Cherokees used money from the Tribal Transportation Bridge program to help replace a 110-foot bridge on Highway 66 at Dog Creek.
The bridge was declared obsolete.
The tribe also helped straighten an accident-prone section of E-450 road.
Rogers County shared the cost. In the past fiscal year, the Cherokee Nation spent more than $7 million to replace 87 miles of roadway.
