Tulsa's fire union threw its support behind Kathy Taylor in the race for Tulsa mayor.
The Tulsa Firefighters Political Action Committee said Wednesday, Taylor proved herself as a supporter of public safety in general, and firefighters in particular, during her previous term as mayor.
They firefighters say they can't say the same thing about current Mayor Dewey Bartlett.
"Kathy Taylor has a proven record in strong public safety support. Mayor Bartlett, I think you could argue effectively, that he's not supported public safety," said Sandy McGhee, District Vice President of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
The fire union brings a lot of volunteer muscle with its endorsement.
Taylor faces Bartlett and former Councilman Bill Christiansen in the June 11, 2013, election.
