Family Of Hit-And-Run Victim Seeks Answers In Her Death

A Green Country family has been devastated by a hit and run crash that took the life of their daughter. She was also a sister, a mother and a grandmother.

They say they want to know how, why and who could run over this woman in her early 40s and leave her bloody and injured in the middle of the road.

Missy Telley lasted 12 hours after being run over. Her family has had more than 12 months of terrible grief and pain.

Telley was one of five kids. She went to school in Locust Grove, was a straight-A student and was on the rifle squad.

Her family says when you were in her presence, you knew you were loved.

Telley enjoyed being outdoors and loved riding horses. She had three children and two grandchildren -- a whole family who loved her and misses her greatly.

"It's devastating. People who never went through it can't even begin to understand what it does to a family. It's hard to live with. It consumes your life," said her sister, Sharon Ball.

Telley was walking home on January 9, 2012 in the 2700 block of North St. Louis around 5:50 p.m. when she was hit by a car and left for dead.

She crawled to her house, where a friend found her and called 911, but Telley's injuries were too great and she died the next day.

The family says a doctor told them it looked like Missy was assaulted before she was hit by the car, that it seems she was run over first, then backed over again, all at a low rate of speed.

Her family has many questions that eat away at them.

"If they had any remorse - that is the big thing - did they have any remorse for it? Maybe it was an argument that went way bad. Did they have remorse later and were afraid to come forward?" Ball said.

Telley had fallen on some hard times and gotten mixed up with a pretty rough crowd the last few years of her life. The family believes those who know what happened are not coming forward out of fear.

"We're just praying that today, someone sees this, it touches their heart, and they'll come forward and tell what they know," Ball said.

Police say they have no information about a vehicle and no witnesses and really need the public's help to solve this case.
