A thunderstorm blew across the south side of Broken Arrow early Thursday damaging at least one home, uprooting trees and knocking down power poles.

Chris Glimp's home lost its roof. He lives on the northeast corner of 131st and Garnett.  Glimp's family was inside at the time but no one was injured.

"Everybody says it sounds like a train. Yeah, I guess it did, but it was just shaking for five to ten seconds, you know. I really didn't know what was going on, but I knew it wasn't just regular wind blowing," Glimp said.

Glimp said he's just glad his family is safe.

Now, they're staying with neighbors, waiting to find out if their home can even be repaired.

Broken Arrow Emergency Managers say this home had the worst damage in the entire area, even though several trees were down, and other homes were damaged in the neighborhood.

Wood from the roof was embedded in Rick Payne's SUV parked across the street.

SkyNews6 found a number of Broken Arrow Streets under water.  The intersection of 101st and Garnett and others south on Garnett were closed. Some cars were seen stranded in high water.

Flooding also closed the intersection of Bixby Road and Hectorville Road farther south.
