Oklahoma Congressman Markwayne Mullin says he's been named to a committee that will study ways to improve freight transportation in the U.S.
Mullin, who represents the Second District, was named to the 11-member committee that was developed by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
"I am excited to have been chosen to serve on this panel," Markwayne Mullin said. "Oklahoma's Second District has all forms of freight transportation – rails, highways, ports, inland waterways, pipelines and air carriers – so our voice and experience of being the ‘Crossroads of America' should be a part of the discussion on how to improve freight movement in our country."
Mullin said he believes the results will help build efficiency in the nation's freight transportation network.
The committee will be chaired by Republican Representative John Duncan Jr. of Tennessee.
