The Cherokee Nation has given nearly 100 Green Country schools some extra cash.
The tribe split more than $3 million between 92 school districts that are on Cherokee land. That includes from Tulsa County through most of northeastern Oklahoma.
The money was generated from Cherokee car tag sales. It's part of a law the tribe passed in 2001, which requires the Cherokee Nation to donate 38 percent of tag profits to education.
