Longtime Tulsans may remember Geren's Restaurant, later known as Jesse's, at 11th and Memorial. Jesse Geren opened there in 1968, and among the favorites on the menu were the pies he baked fresh every day.
He's retired from the restaurant business now, but he still enjoys making pies. Earlier this week, Geren had a pie-making and tasting event at the Broadmoor Retirement Living Community, where he lives now.
