High School Football: Phillips Resigns As Coach And AD At Central

Central is looking for a new football coach and athletic director after Danny Phillips resigned Wednesday. According to a statement released by Tulsa Public Schools athletic director Gil Cloud, Phillips will seek another staff position in football.

Phillips was 16-15 in three seasons as the coach of the Braves'. In 2011, his team had an 8-3 record and went to the Class 5A playoffs. In 2012, his team went 3-7.

"Coach Phillips has done a great job in molding a solid foundation at Central High School for athletics and football," Cloud said. "We thank him and wish well as he continues his coaching career."

"We will begin the search immediately for his replacement."
