Tulsa firefighters joined hundreds from across Oklahoma in rallying at the state Capitol, as their pensions are on the line.
Lawmakers are considering two bills that would overhaul firefighters' pension program.
One of the biggest changes would increase the number of years firefighters would need to serve before reaching retirement.
"It affects everybody in Oklahoma," said TFD Captain Stan May. "Everybody that's trying to make a living, struggling to make the house payment, the car payment, send their kids to school. This is going to affect them. One injury could cost their children their college education."
Another bill that would scrap firefighters' compensation court has passed the Senate and is headed to the House.
