Tuesday Morning Update

A few areas of light showers or even snow flurries may occur this morning across extreme northern OK and southern Kansas.  Otherwise expect mostly sunny and mild conditions with highs in the upper 50s.  

We're in store for another nice stretch of weather for the next several days with spring like temperatures by the end of the week.  This morning we're tracking a weak mid-level disturbance sliding out of the Rockies producing some low and mid-level clouds across southwestern Kansas and extreme northern OK.  Just like yesterday morning some light rain or even snowflakes may be possible across these areas pre-dawn through early morning.  Otherwise we'll see mostly sunny and mild conditions today with highs in the upper 50s or lower 60s.  Our surface winds will be from the Northeast and then east in the 10 to 20 mph range through midday before speeds decrease later this afternoon.   

The mid-level trough to our east will continue to loose influence over our weather, but the northwest flow aloft will remain for the next few days.  We do not see any major weather systems in our future as mild and warm weather will overspread the region Thursday and last through at least Saturday afternoon.  

EURO data continues to offer a frontal boundary sliding across the state Saturday evening with some post frontal precip possibilities for Sunday along with temperatures closer to normal.  Saturday's highs will be near the lower to mid-70s with Sundays readings in the upper 50s or lower 60s.  A surge of colder air will arrive Monday along with north winds knocking the highs down into the upper 50s or lower 40s.   

This time period of next week begins the start of spring break in Oklahoma.  We'll be posting information regarding the forecast trend starting tomorrow morning.  

Our daytime high yesterday was 53 degrees.  The normal daily average is 61 and the low is 39.

Daily record highs include a high of 91 recorded in 1967 and a low of -3 record on this date in 1948.
