A 56-year-old Poteau man plead guilty Thursday in federal court in Muskogee to possessing materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
At the hearing for Jeffery Dewayne Morrison, a magistrate accepted Morrison's guilty plea and ordered a presentence investigation.
Edward Snow, Assistant United States Attorney for Eastern District of Oklahoma says Morrison's charge followed an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the FBI.
He was indicted in June 2012. The indictment alleges that between November 17, 2010, and March 24, 2011, Morrison knowing possessed and attempted to possess computer images of minors engaging in sexual conduct.
Snow says the range of punishment for this conviction is up to 10 years in a federal prison and or up to a $250,000 fine.
A sentencing date for Morrison has not been set.
