Sales tax revenue for the City of Tulsa is down about 3 percent from the same time last year. The tax disbursement for February represents taxes collected in mid-December to mid-January.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett said the revenue for that reporting period is $20,605,923, a reduction of $627,086 from the same period last year. The disbursement is about 6 percent below budget estimates.

For the fiscal year to date, Tulsa has received $154,654,370 - about 6 percent more than the same period a year earlier.

"A decline in monthly sales tax revenue isn't good news, but it reinforces the need for the City to operate conservatively and continue to try and reduce costs and deliver services more efficiently," said Mayor Dewey Bartlett.

Use tax revenues for mid-December to mid-January were $2,097,623, a decline of 11.9 percent from the same period last year. Use tax collections for the fiscal year to date, however, are about 6 percent more than the previous year and about 3.6 percent above budget estimates at $14,622,576.
