The Oral Roberts women's basketball team played its most complete game of the season to date on Thursday night, blasting Southland Conference-leading Lamar 77-48 at the Mabee Center. Four Golden Eagles scored in double-figures in the win.
Freshman Taylor Cooper led the way with a career-high 20 points, while Sarah Shelton added her first career double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Jaci Bigham and Kevi Luper tallying 13 points each while Bigham added seven assists.
The ORU defense gave a strong performance, holding Lamar (12-5, 5-2) to 28.8% shooting. The Golden Eagles held Kalis Loyd, who entered the game averaging a league-best 18.8 points per game, to just 11. Dominique Edwards also added 11 for the Lady Cardinals.
ORU (8-9, 5-2) continues its four-game home-stand on Saturday, Jan. 26 when they host McNeese State.
