Planned Parenthood To Close One Tulsa Facility

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland says it's closing its Westside Health Center at 4733 South Union by the end of the month.

Planned Parenthood says the reason stems from the Oklahoma State Department of Health's decision last year to terminate its WIC contract.

Officials say the center is only open 8 hours a week. Six employees were laid off when its $454,000 WIC contract ended December 31st.

Planned Parenthood sued in federal court and lost, claiming politics was behind Oklahoma's decision to not renew the food and nutritional counseling contract.

Planned Parenthood still has three health centers in Tulsa and Broken Arrow.
