Two Delaware County Sheriff's deputies had to be taken to a Grove hospital after finding a working meth lab in a rural trailer home Sunday morning.
Sheriff Harlan Moore says deputies Matt North and James Morgan were serving an arrest warrant at the home north of Grove when they were told there was a meth lab in the bathroom.
When deputies opened the bathroom door, they noticed a strong chemical smell, smoke and fumes coming from a large jug in the bathtub. Sheriff Moore says they quickly shut the door.
Deputies got the two occupants, William Donohue, 63, and Tammy Donohue, 42, outside and called for backup. The Grove Fire Department decontaminated the Donohues, and deputies then arrested them.
The hospital checked out the deputies, after they inhaled the fumes. Both were treated and released.
Sheriff Moore says after obtaining a search warrant four hours later, members of the Drug Task Force entered the trailer and found two other people hiding inside.
Randy Murry, 52, and Chrystal Hadley, 43, were arrested after being decontaminated by firefighters.
All four were booked into the Delaware County jail.
At a hearing Monday, a judge ordered them held on $50,000 bond each on a charge of endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine.
