A new tradition at the Tulsa Fire Department will make this Thanksgiving even better for a lot of local families.
Some firefighters delivered 45 turkey dinners with all the trimmings to families across Tulsa Wednesday.
This is the first year the firefighters have collected and delivered the dinners and they plan to make it a yearly tradition, to give back to the community.
"It's very upbeat, all the smiles and I think the guys are just very happy to be able to provide this to the less fortunate in our community," said TFD's Chad Miller.
Of the meals that were delivered, 12 were to people whose homes were either damaged or destroyed by the fire that ravaged the Bradstone Apartments near downtown last week.
