The Tulsa men's cross country team was ranked No. 7 in the final 2012 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I Men's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll.

The No. 7 national ranking is the highest in school history for the Golden Hurricane men's squad. TU finished seventh at the NCAA Championships last week in Louisville, Ky. Tulsa's previous peak was ninth in the USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll earlier this season.

The Hurricane won its third straight Conference USA Championship this season, and finished third at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships. Tulsa also placed seventh at the Pre-Nationals meet and won the Notre Dame Invitational. TU was ranked ninth the week following its victory at the Notre Dame Invite.

In its first two meets of the season, the Golden Hurricane won the Missouri Southern Stampede and went 3-1 in the duels at the Hurricane Cross Country Festival.
