Union Public Schools Announces Top Teachers
Union Public Schools has announced its 2012-13 school teachers of the year.

Union Public Schools has announced its 2012-13 school teachers of the year. The teachers, who represent different grades at several Union campuses, will be eligible for the District Teacher of the Year award.
The District Teacher of the Year will be announced during a reception Wednesday afternoon, March 13, 2013, at the Union Performing Arts Center.
Teachers were selected by their peers, according to a news release.
- Andersen Elementary – April Davis, fifth grade
- Boevers Elementary - Blair Stone, first grade
- Briarglen Elementary – Carrie Reese, fifth grade
- Cedar Ridge Elementary – Amy Tietsort, kindergarten
- Clark Elementary – Angie Draper, kindergarten
- Darnaby Elementary – Jan Irwin, reading specialist
- Grove Elementary – Melissa Christ, third/fourth grade looping
- Jarman Elementary – Jeanette Huizenga, kindergarten
- Jefferson Elementary – Lynne Hosey, first/second grade looping
- McAuliffe Elementary – Steve Martin, fourth/fifth grade looping
- Moore Elementary – Wendi Rutz, fifth grade
- Peters Elementary – Shannon Salinas, kindergarten
- Rosa Parks Elementary – Michele Spencer, language arts specialist
- Rosa Parks Early Childhood Education Center – Kara Lowry, teacher
- 6th Grade – Timilyn Downey, language arts
