Senior libero Jessica Adams was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.
For Adams, the Tulsa career digs leader with 2,339, this marks the 14th time in her four seasons that's he has the won the award. Adams ranks third in C-USA history in career digs, as she needs 60 digs to overtake Tracey Lam of Rice for second-place in league history.
In Tulsa's C-USA regular season title clinching 3-1 win over Rice on Friday night, Adams collected 25 digs and added three service aces. Adams was served to 32 times and did not commit a reception error. In the Hurricane's Senior Day sweep of Houston, Adams recorded 13 digs, which was tied for the team lead. On the week, Adams averaged 5.57 digs per set and 0.43 service aces per set, and did not commit a reception error in 49 total attempts.
Tulsa returns to action on Friday in the Conference USA Volleyball Championship held at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Hurricane will face SMU at noon to kick off the three-day tournament.
