The Tulsa volleyball team claimed its 10th conference victory of the season as it swept Memphis (-21, -16, -14) on Thursday, at The Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
The Golden Hurricane (17-8, 10-1 C-USA) forced the Tigers (9-17, 4-7 C-USA) into 21 attack errors and a .152 attack percentage. TU hit .298 and tallied 37 kills, and posted 31 assists and 38 digs. Memphis tallied 36 kills, 36 assists and 44 digs. Tulsa outblocked Memphis 4-2.
Senior outside hitter Tyler Henderson collected 12 kills to pace the TU attack. Middle blocker Carly Boatwright recorded eight kills and freshman outside hitter Paige Panfil chipped in six kills.
Senior libero Jessica Adams tallied 10 digs, while senior outside hitter Diana Silva posted eight digs.
Senior setter Jordan Clampitt led the team with 18 assists and picked up six digs, while sophomore setter Bailey Clampitt added 12 assists.
In the first set, Tulsa trailed 13-9, but scored 16 of the next 24 points to claim the set 25-21. Boatwright hit .714 in the frame with five kills on seven attempts.
The Golden Hurricane forced the Tigers to hit .000 in the second as TU won the frame 25-16. With the score tied at 13, Tulsa went on a 12-3 run thanks to six attack errors by the Tigers.
Tulsa hit .480 in the third frame as it cruised to a 25-14 win. The Hurricane jumped out to a 7-2 lead and never looked back in the set.
Tulsa wraps up the weekend at home on Sunday against UAB at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
