The State Board of Education has approved a request for more money for Oklahoma schools.
Members gave the green light for a $289 million budget increase for the 2014 fiscal year.
The budget includes money for statewide reforms and teacher pay hikes.
The legislature still has to approve the increase.
The funds would be tied to school performance.
