The Tulsa Fire Department responded to a fire at a south Tulsa apartment complex Wednesday evening.

The fire started in the stairwell between four units at Canyon Creek Apartments, near Lewis Avenue and East 51st Street, sometime before 9:30 p.m.

TFD said the fire spread to two apartments on the second floor and one unoccupied first floor apartment had water damage.

The two second floor apartments were occupied, one by a woman and a 15-month-old baby. They were displaced, along with their neighbors across the stairwell. The Red Cross responded Wednesday night to assist them until alternate accommodations can be found for them.

District Fire Chief Dale Cooley said they were treating the fire as suspicious, pending an investigation.

Cooley said the damage done to the building was significant.

No one was injured in this fire.
