The American Red Cross has released a new app to give Oklahomans and others life-saving information when a wildfire threatens their homes.
According to a news release, the official Wildfire App is available for both iPhone and Android users, and comes in both English and Spanish.
It's the fourth in a series of disaster preparedness apps released by the American Red Cross. The others were first aid, hurricane and earthquake apps.
The Wildfire App is designed to help people develop an emergency plan, monitor wildfires, and find emergency shelters.
"The Wildfire App gives central and western Oklahoma residents instant access to our ‘Blaze Tracker' features so they can prepare their households and businesses and make critical decisions that can save lives," said Ken Garcia, Regional Communications Director.
