Tulsa Police had to fire tear gas into a West Tulsa home Tuesday evening to convince a man to surrender following a domestic incident in the home.

It all happened at 9:45 p.m. at a home in the 500 block of South 45th West Avenue.

Officers say a man called for help after his father started choking him. Neighbors told police, the father also fired a handgun into the air while standing in the backyard.

Tulsa Police arrived to find the man inside the  home and refusing to surrender.

TPD's Special Operations Team was called out and tear gas used to get the man to come outside and surrender to officers.
