Broken Arrow Police: Man Arrested For Kicking 9-Year-Old Daughter

Broken Arrow Police arrested a father for kicking his 9-year-old daughter to the ground.

Richard Lee Howe, 48, is in Tulsa County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Police say they were called to the 4600 block of South Ash at about 7 p.m. Saturday. Howe's wife told officers that her husband came home upset and started shouting at his 9-year-old daughter. He then reportedly kicked the girl in the small of the back, causing her to fall to the ground.

When the mother tried to intervene, Howe slapped her, according to an arrest report.

Police say the domestic assault and battery took place in front of the couple's 11-year-old daughter.

"Richard's wife sustained no visible injuries but advised that she did wish to pursue charges," the arresting officer said. "Richard's 9-year-old daughter sustained a red mark in the middle of her lower back...consistent with being kicked."

Howe was booked early Sunday on complaints of injury to a minor child and domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.
