Tulsa Police arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a homicide that took place Jan. 1.
A tip from Crime Stoppers led officers to Brandon Phillips, who had recently returned to Tulsa and was staying in a home in the 700 block of North Country Club Drive.
When officers searched the home, they found Phillips hiding in a closet. He was arrested on a charge of first-degree manslaughter.
Tulsa Police say Phillips is accused of shooting and killing Michael Hooks in the 5000 block of East 12th Street. Hooks' death was the first homicide of 2012.
Brandon Phillips is in the Tulsa County jail on $500,000 bond.
