City Leaders Hear Citizen Ideas At Vision2 Public Forum

The City of Tulsa wants to know how you would spend the millions of dollars attached to Vision2.

The $750 million sales tax extension goes before Tulsa County voters in November.

If passed, the majority of the money would pay for improvements to city-owned buildings at the airport that are leased to private businesses, like American Airlines, Spirit Aerosystems and the International Bus plant.

The rest goes to quality of life projects in Tulsa County communities.

Wednesday's meeting at OU Tulsa was aimed at getting citizen input.

Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett was there to share his thoughts and city councilors were listening, too.

"And, hopefully, getting a better understanding about what it is the citizens of Tulsa would like to spend their money on," said Councilor GT Bynum.

There's another meeting happening Wednesday night at East Central Junior High in Tulsa.

The last one is Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 at the ORU Mabee Center.

Opponents of Vision2 are urging a "no" vote in November, saying it runs counter to the long-term goals supported in "PlanITulsa."
