Driver Flees After Tulsa High Speed Chase

The driver of a stolen SUV leads the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on a high speed early Tuesday morning.

The chase ended with the SUV hitting a utility pole near Latimer and Harvard in Tulsa at about 1 a.m.

The OHP say the chase began when a trooper tried to pull the SUV over for an equipment violation, but the driver sped off with the trooper in pursuit.

After hitting the utility pole, the driver got out of the SUV and ran away.

Tulsa Police's helicopter and a K-9 unit searched for the driver but came up empty.

A check of the SUV turned out it had been stolen recently.
