The Tulsa Area United Way launched its annual campaign by announcing a huge goal at one of green country's biggest high school football events.

The organization announced a fundraising goal of $24,900,000 during halftime of the Jenks-Union football game Friday night.

"Football and the Tulsa Area United Way's annual campaign are two of our community's most beloved fall traditions," said Mark R. Graham, President and CEO. "It was a natural fit to kick off our campaign and announce our goal at the Jenks-Union game."

Last year, the TAUW set a goal of $24,556,573 and surpassed it by over $190,000.

Coming up, nearly 5,000 volunteers will participate in the United Way's annual Day of Caring on Friday, September 7.

The campaign will run through November 8. For more information, to get involved or to make a contribution, call 918-583-7171 or visit www.tauw.org.
