Tulsa Police, DHS investigate Suspected Case Of Child Abuse

A 5-month-old girl is rushed to the hospital with a head injury and now Tulsa Police and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services are investigating.

Tulsa Police say the incident happened Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex near 61st and Peoria.

The hospital called Tulsa Police after the parents brought the girl to the emergency room. An examination determined the child had a severe head wound.

"Detectives have interviewed both the mother and the father, then later the social worker for the hospital called after being contacted by the maternal grandmother and did let us know that the maternal grandmother may have some information for us and we will be following up with her," said Tulsa Police Cpl. Greg Smith.

Names of the mother and father were not released, since no one has been arrested.
