A suspect was arrested in the connection with the rape of a young woman Sunday afternoon.
Police say 48-year-old Charles Dwight Shaw took a 21-year-old woman to his home in the 1500 block of North Knoxville and told her he wanted to have sex.
Arrest reports show the two struggled and Shaw raped her, and then washed her clothes and his bed sheets and told her she couldn't leave until they were dry.
Detectives say the woman tried to escape naked through a window, but couldn't.
Eventually, police say Shaw took her back to the area where he picked her up.
Police arrested Shaw as he arrived at his residence Sunday. After Shaw consented to a search of his home, officers found a loaded 12 gauge shotgun and two ballistic vests. He told police he used the vests to go hunting and when he goes out to the bar.
Shaw was convicted of armed robbery in 1985. He was also arrested for rape and kidnapping in 1988, but that case was dismissed because the witness was unavailable. He was arrested again for sexual battery in 2010, but never faced charges.
Tulsa Police say Shaw could face charges of first degree rape, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm.
He was booked into a Tulsa County jail and is being held on a $160,000 bond.
