Skiatook Man Killed When His Truck Crashes Near Avant

A Skiatook man is dead after his truck ran off an Osage County road Monday afternoon.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the single-vehicle crash occurred on Javine Hill Road near Avant just after 4 p.m.

Troopers say Jimmie Mahan, 58, was driving north when his truck went off the road, he over-corrected causing the truck to cross over and go off the other side.

The OHP says Mahan was thrown out of the truck, which hit a fence and a barn.

Troopers say it appears Mahan was driving too fast at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
