A Tulsa company got a lot greener recently and the savings are already paying off.
IC Bus of Oklahoma received a $142,000-check today from the Public Service Company of Oklahoma, as part of their energy efficiency incentive program.
The company spent four times that amount just to replace a thousand light fixtures with high-efficiency bulbs, but they said it was worth it.
"These lights are going to last longer. They certainly burn much cooler than the other lamps. So, we see not only the monthly benefits on our utility bills, but also some longevity that will have us not replacing them nearly as often," said IC Bus plant manager, Greg Hutchison.
They estimate the change will save $75,000 a year.
