Piece Of American Airlines History Returning To Tulsa

A restored DC-3, the Flagship Detroit, delivered to American Airlines in 1937, will be on display at Sparks Aviation at the Tulsa International Airport this weekend.

A restored DC-3, the Flagship Detroit, delivered to American Airlines in 1937, will be on display at Sparks Aviation at the Tulsa International Airport on Friday, August 10th through Sunday, August 12th.

Sparks Aviation is just south of the Tulsa Air & Space Museum.

Members of the Flagship Detroit Foundation will be on hand to provide tours and answer questions about the historic aircraft.

Owned and operated by the foundation, "Detroit" went through a major restoration to return the exterior and interior to its original configuration.

According to the foundation, Flagship Detroit is the oldest flying DC-3 in the world.
