Voting is now open on a deal that would help American Airlines fly out of turbulent times.
The Transport Workers Union says, while the deal would mean up to 1,300 mechanics in Tulsa could lose their jobs. Those who remain would get a three-percent raise.
The "stores" work group, along with the mechanics and related employees, has until August 7 to vote.
American says the agreement would save the company $35 million and eliminate the need to cut more employees.
If it's not approved, a bankruptcy court could take action on August 15, to scale back American's workforce.
