Have a plan to make Tulsa a more beautiful place to live? There's a foundation that may match your idea dollar for dollar.

The Tulsa Beautification Foundation is accepting applications through the end of July to fund beautification projects. The grants assist neighborhood and homeowner's associations registered with the City of Tulsa or registered non-profit organizations.

Proposed projects must:

  • Physically improve a city neighborhood or public space
  • Involve neighborhood/community residents
  • Have long-standing, sustainable benefits
  • Have a plan ready for implementation
  • Make sure the plan provides for maintenance to keep up the completed project

The Tulsa Beautification Project, funded by the George Kaiser Family Foundation, will match dollar for dollar funds raised by the sponsoring group. Volunteer hours, valued at $1619 per hour, may account for up to 35 percent of the match.

Apply for grant online

The grants do not pay for upkeep of completed projects, so applicants must plan ahead for maintenance such as upkeep of landscaping or repairs to signs.

The project must be started only after the application has been approved, and it should be completed about 90 days after notification of the award. Applicants are responsible for making sure any city permits or permissions are secured.

Call Josh Miller at the TBF for more information at 918-591-2426. Go to the City of Tulsa web site for more information.
